About Opal
- The name Opal comes from three point of supply. One is the Latin word “Opalus”. The second one come from the Greek word “Opalliois” which means a change of color and finally from the ancient Sanskrit word “Upala” which means precious or valued stone.

- Australia is the largest producer of Opal. Other important deposits are in Ethiopia, Sudan, Hungary, Honduras, Brazil, Mexico, and the United States (Nevada, Oregon, California, Idaho).
